Adrenalin packed action for Adults & Teenagers over 14yrs. Learn about the beautiful Tramore Coastline at the same time as having fun and hacking along its rocky shoreline.

Whilst we wouldn't be immodest enough to claim that we 'invented' the whole notion of exploring along rocky foreshores.

kids have been doing that since seaside holidays first began and the Guillamene and Newtown cove areas are famous for their diving & ledges.

Oceanics Adventure is proud to have taken the whole notion one step further with the development of our new adventure activity Coasthacking.

It couldn't be more simple - get fitted out in a wetsuit, safety helmet, buoyancy aid and old trainers then scramble, clamber, swim and leap your way around Tramore's famous & spectacular rocky coastline, turning rocks, water and waves into playthings! Leaping is not compulsory but most people like to try it.

There is absolutely no pressure on any participantsto do any leaps they are not comfortable with, it's entirely up to you. There is always an alternative route!

All safety equipment is provided by Oceanics and our instructors while keeping a watchful eye will part take and demonstrate the activity. Don't be afraid to ask questions, that's what they are there for and they will be delighted to assist.

What to expect

Course timings:

Half day sessions are 3 hours and start with a briefing and introduction to Oceanics and a chance to meet your guide and the other coasthackers in your group.

After the Safety Briefing and gearing up with the equipment at the Oceanics base we will be driving to our Coasthacking location.

What to Bring Coasthacking

You need to bring:

• Towel x2
• Old trainers, that you are happy to get wet
• Swimming costume
• Warm clothes to change into after the session
• Old shorts to wear over your wetsuit for coasthacking. Drawstring are best, as they won't fall off when you leap!
• Sun cream

We will provide:

• Wetsuit
• Helmet
• Bouyancy Aid

Adult CoastHacking

Suitable for 16 years + (If you've got adventurous teenagers call us on 051 390944 and we'll find them the best adventure session possible)

You'll be discovering the incredible Tramore coastline by foot, from a perspective very few people experience. Scrambling, leaping and traversing along the bottom of the coast where the sea meets the land, one of the most powerful places on the planet.

There are some amazing leaps, a dynamic whitewater 'washingmachine' that flushes you around and around when the sea conditions are just right.

Our fantastic guides will show you how to coasthack safely whilst pushing you to your limits.

Teen / Family Coasthacking Adventure

Our Teen / Family coashacking adventures are perfect for anyone aged 14yrs+. If you have adventurous teenagers and are not sure which coasteering session to book (adult or Teen/ Family) give the team in the office a call and we'll ensure we arrange the best possible adventure for you.

On our Educational Based Programmes you'll discover at a comfortable pace, remarkable wildlife and we'll teach you how these magical creatures survive in one of the most powerful places on the planet. As you journey along the dramatic Newtown & Guillamene coastline for those that have an interest, we'll point out wildlife, plants and rocks and tell you interesting things about their natural habitats and how they are changing due to climate change.
